The Leap: From Planner to Entrepreneur in Media

I always knew my future was in media. After completing an HND in Communications & Journalism and an MA in Film, TV & Scottish Literature at the University of Glasgow, I began my career at Real Radio as a planner. It was the perfect foundation—shaping my understanding of campaign strategy and naturally opening the door to Account Management.
After four years, I moved to Radio Clyde’s commercial team, and soon after was offered a role at CBS Outdoor—where my passion for Out-of-Home truly ignited. I went on to spend 15 years there as the business evolved into Exterion Media and then Global, working 11 years on the Scottish team before joining the national team to support UK and international brands across fashion, finance, automotive, and FMCG.
My last year working for an employer was spent at 75Media, but by then the ambition to build something of my own had already taken root. When the time was right, I backed myself, took the leap—and CZ Media was born.
I love media because it’s dynamic, creative, and always evolving. It brings together storytelling, strategy, and human behaviour in a way that constantly inspires me. The pace, the curiosity it sparks, and the impact it can create are exactly why I’m so passionate about this industry.
